Guitarist

We are deeply disappointed to tell you that we have decided to cancel the Bath Jazz Weekend 2022.

The musicians and crew are all immensely disappointed and frustrated at having to cancel what, in previous years, has been a joyful, generous, and successful event with a large and enthusiastic audience.

But we hope that we may soon return to something like previous normality.  And it may be possible, when the situation becomes clearer, to run the event or something similar at another time later in the year.  We will keep you informed about future possibilities.

Although we had waited as long as possible in the hope that the situation might change, every factor was still against running the event:  some musicians and crew had tested positive for the virus and there was the inevitable risk of it happening to others; there were similar problems for audiences and an understandable reluctance to commit to buying tickets or attending events when there was such an atmosphere of uncertainty and worry prevailing; and in consequence, insufficient ticket sales at the  point of cancellation which would have made the event – which is a shared, co-operative venture - financially unviable for musicians, crew and venue alike.

But for now – our thanks to all those who had bought tickets (all tickets will be refunded in full) for responding to this terrific musical programme and thanks to all the musicians and crew for their generous collaboration.

Stay safe, stay well, and stay optimistic – and please, if you wish, don’t hesitate to contact us about any of this via email – info@bathjazzweekend.com
